Happy Valentine’s Day!

14^th February is celebrated as Valentine’s Day, all over the world. On this day, people not only express their Love for one another, but they celebrate their love as well.

This love has its ups and downs. When expectations are met, love overflows. When they are not, that love disappears, albeit temporarily.

What kind of love is it? Is it really, true love? Let us take a closer look at an everyday situation: A young man’s parents celebrate his success at school with a party and reward his performance with a motorbike. Now, if within a few days, the young man wrecks it, his parents get angry and tell him that he does not deserve anything. They immediately take back the ‘certificate of merit’ they gave him only a few days ago. All their love vanishes!

Can this be love?

No!

So does true love exist?

Yes!

There is only one person in the world who has selfless pure love and that is the Self-realized person (Gnani). One can never find anything comparable to Their love. It does not overflow when someone offers praise nor does it turn hostile towards the one who insults.
