Parent’s day is an opportunity for children to show their appreciation and gratitude to their parents by giving them gifts or flowers and spending quality time with them. Parents play a very important role in the development of a child. They mold them into mature and responsible adults. Moral values that parents instill from childhood become the foundation of their children’s bright future.
A mother is a child’s first teacher. She teaches him everything. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan says that, “Your duty and religion [as children] is to care for your parents. You will receive as much happiness as you give to them. Children who see faults in their parents will never be happy. They may have material wealth, but they would never be happy spiritually. People, who wholeheartedly care for their parents, find peace. That is the law of nature.”
He also says that, “In this world you must have the highest reverence towards your father, your mother and your guru. You cannot forget the benevolence of those who have guided you to the right path.”
So let us remember and cherish all that our parents have done for us and express our love and affection for them by serving them whole-heartedly.
