Happy Janmashtami!
Tuesday August 23, 2016
Janmashtami is the auspicious celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is a symbol of righteousness. In a time when evil prevailed over mankind, He took up the responsibility of saving people from the cruelty of others.
Lord Krishna rose against external enemies, but in this day and age, more than external enemies the internal enemies within us i.e.: anger, pride, deceit and greed; have taken over our lives. How can we fight this war that rages within us? How can we experience peace in every situation in our life?
Lord Krishna gave Arjun, the knowledge of the Self, on the Mahabharata battlefield, which enabled Arjun to fight the war without charging a single karma. And by attaining this same knowledge through the grace of a Gnani Purush (the Enlightened One) in a Gnan Vidhi Ceremony, we will obtain the answer to the question ‘Who am I?’ and ‘Who is the doer?’ With this knowledge we will be able to solve all the problems in our life. We will experience peace no matter what happens because we will have a tool that empowers us against our inner enemies.
This Janmasthami, let us bring an end to the evil that takes shelter within us in the darkness of ignorance!
