Happy Guru Purnima!

Monday July 18, 2016

Guru Purnima is celebrated as a festival dedicated to Guru, who act as a guide to their disciples and show the path towards the salvation. There are two types of guru, one who guides in worldly life and another who guides on spiritual path. Both are essentially important in one's progress.

Param Pujya Dadabhagwan says, ‘Guru is the one whose very sight makes our heads bow.’

Just upon seeing him, our head will bow. That is the definition of a guru. That is why if one is a guru, then he must be such that he dissolves all egos. Then you can attain liberation, but not otherwise.

On this day, Param Pujya Dadabhagwan says that he is completely detached from worldly affairs and becomes one with the ‘Dada Bhagwan’ (Enlightened Soul) that has been manifested within him. Hence, one can ask for infinite strength and immense blessings for their spiritual progress on this day. Guru Purnima is thus a day, to take blessings from guru, to get the right understanding to have complete awareness just like he has and become one with the pure Soul.
