Happy Mother’s Day!
Who is that person with whom we are connected even before we are born?
Who is that person who stands by us no matter what?
Who is that person who can feel and understand us even without us sharing anything?
The list can be endless of such gestures of unique love.
No points for guessing, the only person who can love us unconditionally is our “Mother”. With her is our special relationship that effortlessly scores above all other known relations on this Earth. And Mother’s Day is an occasion to express our deep gratitude, respect and honor that we have towards her.
There are different forms and ways of expressing gratitude towards ‘Mother’ by the people around the world. However, these expressions are sometimes forgotten when one has had difference of viewpoint with her. Differences could be there, but these differences shouldn’t become so big that they end up hurting our mother and our relation with her, adversely.
Mothers are known to be a symbol of love and forgiveness. So she might forgive us for our wrongdoings, but the hurt will always remain deep in her heart.
Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan says, “Children who see faults in their parents will never be happy. They may have material wealth, but they would never be happy spiritually.”
How can we forget our duty and obligations towards our parents, who have always sacrificed, in order to give us the best in all ways?
Param Pujya Dadashri further says, “When children remain obedient and ‘aadhin’ (heartily surrendered) to their parents at all times, even if they don’t like doing so, they will experience peace and happiness from within.”
So if you want to be happy in life, the shortcut to it is to keep your parents happy by not seeing their faults or being rude to them or demeaning them in any way. Remember, this is the only bond that is strong enough to withstand all the ups and downs under any circumstances.
Hence, let us make this Mother’s Day a special day by paying an earnest tribute to our Mother, who is the reason for our very existence! Although a single day isn’t enough to recognize our mother’s contributions in our life, but special occasions like ‘Mother’s Day’ give us a chance to undo our mistakes by asking for her forgiveness from the bottom of our heart.
